When will a judge order marriage counseling? - A judge
may direct both of the parties of the divorce to a counseling
service during the time in which a divorce is pending.
What can a counselor suggest? - A marriage counselor can suggest to
the judge that either there is no hope for the marriage working, or there is a
chance at it working, pending further counseling. If this is the case,
there can be an order put out by the judge that mandates the couple continue
with counseling for up to two months.
What if there are children involved? - If there are
children involved in the divorce, the counseling will also have
something to do with issues they may be facing, and how the
divorce would change the relationship between the child and the
parents.
